The Lancaster-York Chapter of APICS kicked off our new meeting season with an exciting topic - How to Run an Amusement Park Supply Chain!  Dutch Wonderland (DW) General Manager Rick Stammel shared the ups and downs of keeping tens of thousands  of children and their families happy while visiting Dutch Wonderland.

Over dinner, Rick reveled his table with stories of some of DW's guests.  Kids, water park?  Yes, there are stories!

Rick reminded us they ARE manufacturers...of fun.  His details and statistics for DW's six supplies chains was fascinating:
  • Food/Beverage
  • Retail Store
  • Games/Prizes
  • Rides
  • Maintenance
  • Team Members

A few fun facts about a Dutch Wonderland summer season:
  • 12,000 trash bags used
  • 39,192 pounds of french fires served
  • 61,942 bottle of water sold l
  • 31,601 ducks pulled in the Lucky Duck game
  • 175 gallons of hand sanitizer used

This meeting was held at Heritage Hotel in Lancaster on September 8.
