Parts Manager

Opportunity is located near Windsor Mill, MD.  Compensation is between $60K - $65K.

Job Description:
  • Client wants a coordinator who can monitor the receiving and shipping of all the machined parts.
  • Good customer relations with clients as well as outside sourcing clients
  • Material scheduling
  • Monitor delivery schedules and flow of materials to ensure production schedules are on time
  • Assist with stocking and updating stocking needs
  • Work with inspection department to resolve quality defects on outside sourced parts
  • Work with suppliers/outside sourcing to ensure cost effective pricing and efficient delivery
  • Coordinate and expedite purchase orders to ensure on time delivery for material procurement of raw materials
  • Analyze cost for procured and sourced parts to determine cost saving strategy 

Work Environment:
  • The environment is pretty clean compared to other machine shops.
  • Seems family-based so everyone gets along and communicates effectively. 
  • They have about 8 departments, but employees aren’t only assigned tasks for their departments.  Everyone helps out where they can.
  • Pretty quiet. 

Qualifications:
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in logistics, business, operations or supply chain management
  • 5+ years related experience, preferred in a machine shop or similar environment
  • Extensive experience in manufacturing sourcing and procurement
  • Possess knowledge of supply chain, logistics concepts, and business procedures relating to inventory management , purchasing and basic manufacturing
  • Experience with ERP systems (Global Shop), Excel, and Access
  • Ability to manage team up to 5 employees
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

 
Performance Expectations:
Wants a coordinator who still has hands-on experience. THIS IS NOT A DESK JOB. They will be on the floor often with the machinists and quality department etc. They will be in charge of many things, including outside processing, on time delivery, shipments, receiving, and customer satisfaction. They will have no more than 2 people to supervise at once.

They will deal with SAP systems.
Requires a strong focus on procurement of raw materials.
