DESCRIPTION
The entry-level Associate Production Planner is responsible for assisting in the execution of production schedule as a result of MRP output, taking into consideration the available capacity, material availability and program delivery commitments. Communicates to business product support managers the manufacturing status, expected completion dates and bottlenecks in releasing material to the floor.
JOB DUTIES
1. Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates the internal/external supply chain material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials to meet on time delivery requirements.
2. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed.
3. Monitors internal and external supply chain alignment – identifies and resolves potential constraints, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the production or purchase of components / parts based on a master production schedule, shop load and inventory requirements.
4. Plays an integrate part of product Integrated Product Teams (IPT) by effectively interfacing with internal customers on a daily basis, schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for shipping orders.
5. Performs Work Package Mgr. (WPM) duties and supports the Control Account Mgr. (CAM) by preparing program ETCs/EACs/EVs and communicating potential cost/schedule impacts.
6. Assists Business Product Support Mgr. in the execution of action/ workaround plans for assigned products/value streams to maximize MDS on-time completion. Analyzes pegging reports to determine critical path constraints. Performs product lead time analysis.
7. Enters manual demand for top/down & bottom-up releases, facilitates engineering changes and coordinates production cut-ins. Reviews excess material for possible consumption in other jobs. Creates material transfers, borrow/payback transactions and PO change requests.
8. Tracks project milestones and provide evidence to finance for billing purposes.
QUALIFICATIONS
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
1. Familiarity with Word, Excel, Outlook, MRP software, PowerPoint, MS Projects, EMatrix, and Oracle ERP Software is preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree Bachelors degree in Business administration, supply chain, industrial engineering, or related field
