Job summary
: 
This senior position is accountable for developing & managing the supply chain. Focusing on the following key strategic areas: purchasing, logistics, inventory management, on time delivery and quality. The Senior Supply Chain Specialist must understand the markets that GTC operates in and be able to develop strategies to fit business needs, taking the lead in supplier development, negotiations, contracts, cost analysis and supplier selection.  As a key member of the supply chain management organization, this role will interface with all the key functions and business groups, leading and developing strategies & implementing best practice. The Senior Supply Chain Specialist must develop and nurture relationships at all levels within GTC as well as suppliers & strategic partners – focusing on Future Value, Incremental & Current business needs.

 Specific Responsibility:  
  • Creates and implements supply chain strategies that enhance competitive advantage for both Greene Tweed & Co. and its customers. Focusing on Future Value, Incremental & Current business needs. Strategies need to be aligned with Business Group requirements, including Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical & Power and Semi Conductor. Interfacing with key internal functions such as Manufacturing, Advanced Technology, Business Development, Engineering, Sales, Customer Services, Quality, Marketing & Finance to ensure functional alignment
  • Supplier & Strategic Partner relationship development is vital – aligning GTC objectives with key suppliers and deploying the right tools and techniques to deliver world class performance in Quality & Delivery, whilst supporting market pricing requirements.
  • Manage the supplier base to ensure supply of materials, equipment and services in order to meet current and future production needs, (including non production items and services). Developing strategies to improve performance and effectively deploy these.
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the complete supply chain. Undertake value stream mapping, risk assessments and be able to deploy lean manufacturing tools & techniques.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction plans, whilst ensuring quality & delivery standards are maintained or improved. Develop strategies, focusing on short/medium/long term solutions. Balance this with the needs of the business – maintaining focus on Future Value
  • Make regular presentations and provide updates to Senior leadership both internally and externally on key strategic developments. Represent the Supply Chain Manager when required.
  • Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager and the Global Logistics Manager, Responsible for On Time Delivery performance. Ensuring OTD targets achieved and pro-active OTD management strategies are implemented effectively.
  • Working closely with the Supply Chain Manager, Global Logistics Manager and the Inventory Steering Team, to ensure that strategic Inventory policies and procedures are implemented. 

Required Minimum Qualifications: 
  • A technical or business related Bachelor's Degree. 
  • 5+ years of Supply Chain related experience

 Preferred: Candidate has knowledge of SAP, Operations/Planning, Semiconductor (not required), New Product Development experience, and cross functional team experience.

 License, Certification or Testing Recommended:
  •  CIPS or IOM - UK
  • CPM / CPSM or APICS - USA  
  • Or Global equivalents

Skills and Experience
  • Requires High degree of problem solving and decision-making ability 
  • Skilled and experienced in all Procurement process disciplines including spend category management, market and cost analysis, negotiations, supplier selection, supplier performance service level, agreements/performance metric, supplier value management. 
  • Must be able to interface with customers and suppliers externally and interface with multiple disciplines internally.
  • Global Supply Chain experience

Internal Relationships: Business Groups including, Aerospace, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical and Power and Semi Conductor. Functional areas including Manufacturing, Advanced Technology, Business Development, Engineering, Sales, Customer Services, Quality, Marketing, Global Logistics and the Inventory Steering Team.

Expected External Relationships: Supply Chain and Customers where required. 

Equipment Requirements: Computer skills, with working knowledge of windows office software and familiarity with ERP software
